Start of Your Private Cairo Day Tour

Your journey begins with pickup from your Cairo hotel, followed by a visit to Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque, the first mosque ever built in Egypt and Africa, originally constructed in 642 AD in the city of Fustat. This historic mosque played a central role in the foundation of Islamic Cairo.

Ibn Tulun Mosque

Next, visit the magnificent Ibn Tulun Mosque, one of Cairo’s oldest and best-preserved mosques. Built between 876–879 AD by Ahmad Ibn Tulun, this Abbasid-era masterpiece is famous for its vast open courtyard, unique spiral minaret, and minimalist architectural style.

Sultan Hassan Mosque & Madrasa

Continue to the monumental Mosque-Madrasa of Sultan Hassan, a stunning example of Mamluk architecture built between 1356–1363 AD. Once considered one of the most impressive structures of its time, the complex was designed to house schools for all four Sunni Islamic schools of thought, making it both an architectural and educational landmark.

Coptic Cairo & Babylon Fortress

Head into Old Cairo, where Islamic, Christian, and Jewish history coexist. Walk through the ancient Roman Babylon Fortress and visit:

  • The Hanging Church – One of Egypt’s oldest churches, built above the Roman fortress walls and dedicated to the Virgin Mary

  • Church & Monastery of St. George – A rare circular church in the Middle East, with religious significance dating back to the 10th century

  • Abu Serga Church – Believed to be one of the resting places of the Holy Family during their flight into Egypt, featuring ancient marble columns and treasured icons

Ben Ezra Synagogue

Visit the historic Ben Ezra Synagogue, one of the oldest Jewish synagogues in Egypt, built on the site of a former 4th-century Christian church and beautifully restored.

The Coptic Museum

Conclude your exploration at the Coptic Museum, located within the Babylon Fortress. Housing nearly 16,000 artifacts, the museum showcases the evolution of Coptic art and Christianity in Egypt across centuries.

After completing your journey through Cairo’s religious heritage, you’ll be comfortably transferred back to your hotel.
